Cream of the Crop Dairy Festival

We feel like the cat that swallowed the cream here at Irrewarra Sourdough after being selected as the sole bread supplier for next month’s Cream of the Crop Dairy Festival in Melbourne.

Irrewarra Sourdough breads will be showcased with some amazing cheeses and it will be the perfect opportunity to show off our breads including our very special new loaf, the Cheeseboard Batard.

This is the first time the Dairy Industry Association of Australia has run the Cream of the Crop Festival which forms part of the Age Good Food Month celebration of all things foodie.

Australia’s top cheese makers including Meredith Dairies, Milawa Cheese Co, Yarra Valley Dairy, and Ashgrove will display their wares. Ice-cream makers such Harry and Larry’s and Gundowring Fine Foods will showcase their beautiful ice-creams, with five am, Brancourts and Parmalat offering yoghurt tastings. You can come along and sample our all-natural hand made granola which is a great pairing with yoghurt.

Admission to the Cream of the Crop Dairy Festival includes unlimited samples of cheese, ice-cream, yogurt and butter. There will also be dairy master classes throughout the day which you can attend and plenty of wine, beer and cheese platters available to purchase.

Our Cheeseboard Batard that will feature on the day is delicious. Handmade with figs, walnuts, sultanas, raisins and the wonderfully aromatic star anise, it is perfect with soft or hard cheeses and is available each Saturday at all our Victorian retailers.

We’ll also have our new range of Irrewarra Sourdough Baguettes for tasting, including our new Mt Zero Kalamata Olive and Sesame Seed range; they’re crusty, rustic and absolutely unique!

Come and meet us at our stand at the Cream of the Crop Dairy Festival. You’ll enjoy unlimited tastings of cheese with our beautiful Irrewarra breads and Kurrajong Kitchens Lavosh.

It’s just $20 entry and children under 12 are FREE.
